Subject: 19435/SpecComm/Individuals/Plaza Date: Tue, 3 Jul 1990 17:16:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 19440 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS NAMED HEREIN BELOW AS SPECIAL POLICE PARK RANGERS FOR THE PLAZA AT ROSS'S LANDING, TO DO SPECIAL DUTY AS PRESCRIBED HEREIN, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS. _______________ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That William Smith Cutter, Alisia Lawson Eilders, Cyzanne Yvette Cothran, Kevin D. Schropshire and Edward Lee Simmons, be and are hereby appointed as special police park rangers for the Plaza at Ross's Landing, subject to certain conditions and restrictions: 1. That said special police park rangers shall have, possess and exercise every power granted by the statutes of the State of Tennessee or the City of Chattanooga to regular police officers of the City of Chattanooga necessary in the performance of their duties. Such powers and performance of duties by said special police park rangers are expressly limited to the performance of duties with the Plaza at Ross's Landing and do not empower said rangers to go armed. 2. That said special police park rangers shall be considered as civilian employees of the Department of Safety, and shall not be entitled to benefits afforded regular police officers of the City. 0C 3. That such appointments shall expire upon termination of said special police park ranger's employment by the City of Chattanooga. Notwithstanding any other provision herein, the City Council of the City of Chattanooga shall have the right to cancel such appointments at any time. ADOPTED: April 28, 1992 WSPjr:jrm
